Running Update!

Standard

I am soo sorry!!!!!

I know I have not updated you guys in forever.  I’m really sorry about that.  Its been crazy!  My kid was sick, and I’ve been sick, and our schedule has been a bit crazy.

Anyhow, I had my first 5k on Saturday in Ruston, La.  It was super hard between the hills, the heat, and being sick.  However, I finished and didn’t come in last!  Those were my top goals!  My time was 52:12.  That def. is not good, but at least I did it.  I am back into the training.  My goal is to be able to run 3 miles by the time we leave for vacation on July 30th.  I think I can do that!  Again, the weight loss isn’t going so well.  I think I’m going to have to buff up the diet.  I really would like to lose some more weight before vacation.  Any advice is welcome btw!!

Love ya & keep on runnin’

C25K Week 6 Day 1

Standard

Please forgive me for not writing in so long!  I taught VBS last week…Kindergarten…and it was a killer.  The kids weren’t bad, but there is something about VBS that just drains your energy.  Any moment I was at home was spent catching up on sleep/energy.  This morning we ran 2 miles!  Yay Me!!  (lol)  By the last lap, I was pretty worn down, but I plan on building myself up everyday.  I have 2 weeks until my 5k, and I really want to hit 3 miles by that point.  Hopefully tomorrow morning will not require me to plead for strength with God in order to finish.  I guess it doesn’t help me any that I sweat like a pig.  Of course in that 2 miles I still walked part of the big hill.  I can walk it faster than I run it, and without making my shin splints flare up as well.  Either way, we have come a long way from where we were that first dreadful morning.  I will never forget that day.  The pain and emotions I felt that day still motivate me to keep on running.  I never want to go back to that day….EVER!!

Again, thanks so much for reading & keep on running for Jesus!

C25K Week 6 Day 1

Standard

Well, since we werent’ able to get too many day of running in last week, we did Week 5 Day 3 (run 2 miles) this morning.  Unfortunately we ended up 1 lap short (1/2 mile) because my hubby had to leave early this morning to drive the bus for football practice.  We def. could have done that last 1/2 mile; we were doing great!  Since it had been so many days since I had run last, it wasn’t an easy task, but I pushed through.  I didn’t eat the best either this weekend, so I’ve really gotta get back on it this week.  So far today I’ve done okay with my eating.  I’m ready to shed some more lbs already!  Tomorrow I WILL run a minumum of 2 miles!!

Thanks for reading!!     ….and keep on running….

C25K Week 5 Day 3

Standard

Okay, so I’m really sorry I’ve fallen behind on the postings.  I’ve been busy with kiddos, softball, church stuff, etc.  Yes, I am still running.  This morning was my third day of week five.  This is the week where it really gets tough.  This morning we ran 3/4 mile, walked for 3 mins, and then ran another 3/4 mile.  That is all it called for, which wasn’t too bad, and we finished in pretty good time.  Now the last day of this week calls for us to run like 2 miles without stopping.  Ick!!  It will be a bit tough, but I’m confident that we can do it.  The weight loss is still slow, but my clothes are fitting way better, lot of things are no longer tight fitting, and I can see that I’m toning up.  Hopefully I can build more muscle over the next couple of weeks, and blast away some more fat.  I also did some swimming this afternoon, which is a great form of excercise.  So that is sort of where I am right now.  Sorry for the short post this time.  I’ll try not to get too far behind in my posts next time.  lol

23 days until my 1st 5k
